Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping Beauty
Opening: Theatre of the Society for Macedonian Studies, 30/03/1999

A different version of the well-known ballet by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky based on the fairy-tale by Charles Perrault. It is the story of a contemporary woman, who wakes from a hundred-years sleep and never manages to sleep again. And alongside the fairy-tale, the story of the revolution that 'went to sleep' too soon, of Che Guevara who woke her with a kiss, of the end of an ideology and the loneliness of the contemporary political man.
