Don Carlos

2006-2007 National Theatre of Northern Greece
Don Carlos - Friedrich Schiller
Opening: Vassiliko Theatre, 15/12/2006

In a country, where the tentacles of the Inquisition spread everywhere, in a palace, where the thirst for love and power makes breath dangerous, unfolds a tragic family story. The conflict between the father looking for a son other than the one he has, and the son, seeking desperately the father he had never had. The masterpiece of Friedrich Schiller, inspired by real persons and events of the 16th century, full of love stories and passions, crosses and swords, heroism and intrigues, lies and self-sacrifices, confiding and betrayals, constitutes a tremendous shout against the tyranny of Power.
