The National Theatre of Northern Greece will be staging Euripides’ tragedy “The Trojan Women” in the summer of 2023, translated into Modern Greek by Theodoros Stephanopoulos and directed by Christos Sougaris.
Christos Sougaris, who was awarded the Union of Greek Theatre Critics’ Young Theatre Creator award for 2018 and is head of artistic programming at the NTNG, will be directing a radical reading of Euripides’ masterpiece for us this year. The production’s music was written by the internationally acclaimed soloist and composer Stefanos Korkolis, who will also be playing the piano on stage during the performances at the Forest (Dasous) Theatre and the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus.
