On the way to Bethlehem, the three Magi stop to rest at the poor hut of little Amahl and his mother. The desperate woman is tempted to steal some of the Magi's gold, for the sake of her disabled son. When she finds out that the gift is intended for the newborn Christ, she repents, while the disabled boy, in a gesture of innocent generosity, offers the Magi his crutch, the most valuable thing he owns, for them to give to the holy infant. Kindness generates a miracle, little Amahl is healed and follows the Magi on a pilgrimage to Bethlehem. A tender, musical fairy tale for children, for only five performances, during the festive days of the year.
