Romeo and Juliet by Two
Opening: Lazaristes Monastery - Sokratis Karantinos Stage, 21/12/1999
Dance means, first and foremost, a liberation of the body. That is why the love between Romeo and Juliet is born when their first dance sets their bodies free and leads to their union in life and death. What happens, however, when a body that longs to dance and fall in love is crippled? Can dance untie its knotted bonds, can it overcome physical disability and transform it into an erotic fantasy? This marginal liberation of a crippled body through dance, a body which succeeds in experiencing absolute love, is the bold storyline of this modern variation of this erotic myth par excellence.
