The Hypochondriac

1998-1999 National Theatre of Northern Greece
The Hypochondriac - Molière
Opening: Lazaristes Monastery - Sokratis Karantinos Stage, 19/02/1999

The last comedy by Moliere, is one of the most popular theatrical scripts. Argan, the patient who thinks he is seek, is a comic as he insists a lot, and at the same time he is tragic, he pits with his 'sickness', the death that 'threatens' him, and most of all with the doctors that work on him. As he is willing to conjure with humor the greatest human phobias, Moliere builds a world of comic excess, where health is mixed up with money, love with drugs, marriage with medicine.
