Director’s Note
Folk tales. A powerful expression of the human experience. A place of limitless imagination and poetry in a magical, universal, timeless space. Folk tales are tender, but they are brutal, too. They’re full of stubbornness and patience and resourcefulness and love.
There are no superheroes in this tale of ours. Just clever folk and people who get things done. There are no glass slippers, beautiful princesses, big bad wolves or fearsome warriors slaying dragons and monsters. No one sits waiting for the prince to come here. We just go out and get him.
