"After the Campsite"
Theatre Workshop for Young Refugees

The National Theatre of Northern Greece organizes this year for the first time an annual art workshop addressed to young refugees who live in refugee accommodation centres in Thessaloniki.
 

17 children aged 14-16 years attend the workshop which is led by two specialized theatre educators and a psychologist/psychodramatist, in collaboration with the director Mihalis Sionas, three actors and a dramaturg.

Material drawn from this workshop will be used for the creation of the production "After the Campsite". The production will be presented at the International Theatre Festival “The Future of Europe” that will take place at the Schauspielhaus Stuttgart in June 2018.

The festival is a cooperation between the Schauspielhaus Stuttgart, the National Theatre of Northern Greece, the Piccolo Teatro (Milano), the National Theatre of Greece (Athens), the Célestins Théâtre (Lyon), the Vígszínház Theatre (Budapest) and the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (Barcelona).
 
The acclaimed writer Dimitris Sotiriou will contribute with a new original text written especially for the production.
