In "The Birthday Party" the central hero, Stanley, persecuted by inexplicable fears and suffering by persecution mania, is forced to stay locked at home. There, he feels safe, accepting the attention of his middle-aged landlady, till the day the real fear invades in the face of Goldberg. A delegate of some political organization or religious heresy, he comes remind Stanley of his obligations and bring him back to order. An existential play, open in social-political readings, moving between the various aspects of the real and the unreal. (Entefktirio Magazine)
