A play for love and loneliness, for the relationships of the contemporary young men with the previous generation, for the lack of communication between people having the mania to build walls of isolation instead of bridges of contact. The play refers to the tender friendship linking the 18 year-old and desperate Harold with the 80-year -old alive and kicking Maude, who finally reconcile Harold with life. This communication bridge between two different generations becomes a hymn for life, throbbing with love, spontaneity and liveliness. Maude achieves to convey optimism and faith to a young man who finds it difficult to get adapted to his environment. Harold learns to smile, sing dance, to think spontaneously, to accept and know himself. When Maude takes poison, deciding to end her life, because she feels that it has nothing more to offer her, Harold stays alone and shattered. However, now, Harold is a different person who knows the human communication and love of his fellow-beings and is ready to start his travel to life.
