The play is of a great historic value as it exercises an honest policy and social criticism in situations, which followed 1821 War of Independence. With a popular, vivid, every day language, historic symbolism and clear national stigma, the playwright analyses the starting points of the social and bureaucratic labyrinth. Starting from the comic figure of a high-ranking State official, he comments satirically the state mechanism, while at the same time, explores approximate mentalities of the bourgeois class of the time.
