The play is based on one of the most beautiful Greek tradition: for the brother to stay unmarried till the suitable groom will be found for his sisters. Thus here we see the brother who wishes to make his own family but can't because he has an unmarried sister. The problem gets bigger because the sister is an elderly person and thus the eventuality of a future marriage fades out. This is the drama that Tilemachos lives, the brother of the elderly Chrisanthi, whom presents her in an advertisement for the pursuit of a groom, writing that she is 39 years old while in reality she is over fifty. The themes that Sakellarios and Giannakopoulos use are taken from every day life and the problems of the Greeks. They satirize in a tart humor the manners of the social and political life and show things from their other side, emphasizing the comic element even in the most dramatic subjects.
