The well-known theatrical-philosophic theory of Pirandello between Being (Man) and Looking like (Man's appearance) as well as the ambiguous psychological situations, detected also in this play belonging to the category of the psychological realistic theatre. Its theatrical outlets in the comedy 'The man, the beast and the virtue' though merry are terribly pessimistic. The spectator unconsciously is going to be ashamed for laughing because The Mirror (Madame Pirella) in which the captain Pirella saw his mask is the same the mirror of his bedroom. Pirandello obliges the spectator to think and judge, because he brings him very close to questions with the combinations: Stage-society, Scene painting- edifice, actor-role.
