Giorgos Cheimonas was born in Kavala (1936) and raised in Thessaloniki. There he lives, and graduated from medical school. Later, right after serving the army, he left to Paris. In French he mastered in Psychiatrics and Neuropsychology. After that he returned to Athens where he worked in "Aiginiteio Hospital". He has published nine works of fiction: "Peisistratos" (1960) ), "The Excursion" (1964), "The Novel" (1966), "The Doctor Ineotis" (1971), "The Marriage" (1975), "The Brother" (1976), "The Builders" (1979), "My Journeys" (1984) and "The Enemy of the Poet" (1990). Moreover, he has issued seven books-essays over the Speech, as well as translated plays of: Shakespeare, Sophocles, and Euripides. He died in 27 February 2000 in Paris.
