As an actor and director, Sotiris Chatzakis has put his signature in one hundred performances in the National Theatre, the NTNG, the Athens Concert Hall "Megaron" and in almost all Municipal Regional Theatres as well as in private theatres in Greece. He has served as the Artistic Director in Kaisariani Theatre, in the Municipal Regional Theatre of Serres and in Politeia Theatre, and also as deputy Artistic Director in the National Theatre of Greece under the director Nikos Kourkoulos between 2005 and 2006. He has presented his work in Greece and abroad, in Spain, Portugal, Germany, Poland, the U.K., Serbia, Bulgaria, Albania, Romania, South Africa, Cuba, China (Hong Kong and Beijing), as well as in the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus six times. He has taught in programmes supervised by the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Culture, in the European Cultural Centre of Delphi, in the Experimental Theatre, the Summer Academy and the Drama School of National Theatre of Greece, in the Department of Theatre Studies at the University of Patras, in the School of Drama at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and in the Drama School of the NTNG. Texts such as "The murderess" by A. Papadiamantis (Ianos, 2004), "The night of the goat" (Ianos, 2005), "The Dead Brother's Song" (Ianos, 2006), "The Last Temptation of Christ" by N. Kazantzakis, "The holly marriage" and "Pope Joan" by E. Rhodes (Ianos, 2008) have been adapted for the stage by S. Chatzakis. He has written the plays "The magician and the rehearsal", "The Song of the Century" and ten books with fairytales published by Kritiki Publishing and Stahi Publishing. He recently appeared in the television programme "10" by Karagatsis broadcasted by Alpha TV. Since July 2009, he has been the Artistic Director of the National Theatre of Northern Greece.
