He was still a Maths student at university when he made his debut on the then new stage of the Avlaia theatre as one of the protagonists in The Hostage. It was rare then, too, for a young actor without a theatre background and an acting qualification to play a main role like this, but he was recommended for the role by the director of the Νational Theatre of Northern Greece at the time, Minos Volanakis.

In the 40 years since then, he has been a key player at the NTNG, performing dozens -indeed over a hundred- roles and collaborating with the biggest names in contemporary Greek theatre, including Spyros Evaggelatos, Minos Volanakis, Kostis Michailidis, Marios Ploritis, Giorgos Theodosiadis, Evis Gavriilidis, Vasilis Papavasileiou, Takis Mouzenidis, Nikos Koundouros, Yannis Houvardas, Matthias Langhoff, Nikaiti Kontouri, Giannis Rigas, Damianos Konstantinidis and important playwrights, composers, stage designers, translators et al who have worked with the NTNG down the years.

His colleagues have repeatedly voted him their union representative, and he is a former president of the actors of the NTNG.

He has acted in works by Euripides, Shakespeare, Molière, Pirandello, Lope de Vega, Brecht and plays from the contemporary Greek repertoire.

Having also studied classical piano (Greek Conservatory), guitar, voice and music theatre, he also worked at FM100.5, a public radio station, for a decade as a producer of programmes devoted to classical music and literature.

At the same time, he has continued to write articles on economics, serving for four years as the head of the Egnatia daily newspaper’s financial pages. He has also written on culture for the same publication, and served as its General Manager.

Over two decades, he also served as an executive with -and later General Manager of- the “Mentor” and “Mentor Finance” companies.
