'The Possessed' of Albert Camus is a theatrical adaptation of the homonymous novel of Dostoiyevski. Subject of the play is the murder of Shatov (inspired by a real event: the murder of the student Ivanov from the nihilist Netseyeif) and the spiritual adventure and death of Stavrogin, who is split between good and evil of human fate and brings the problem of the liberty of people in contrast with the theological faith.The play is opportune and constitutes a fierce accusation of all those systems having as an object to trade upon and humiliate the liberties of the people. This is how the director, Giannis Iordanidis, sees the play pointing out that the play is revealed extremely prophetical in relation with the organized crime, terrorism and the ethics of revolvers shocking modern times.
