It is about the story of a working-class Irish family in the years of the civil war between the new government of the Free Irish State and the Republic Army, which turned down the compromise treaty of the partition of the country (between England and Southern Ireland) in 1922. Juno is the classis Irish woman struggling for the survival of her family while the 'Peacock', that is her husband, ignoring what is happening around him, drinks and recounts sea stories, he, however, has never lived.
