The heroes of De Filippo arrive exhausted from a tough week in the Weekend from which they expect a simple diversion, an escape from the everyday worries. However, they do not succeed in leaving their daily life out of the door. They carry it through an acquired habit and they lay it down in the Sunday table. The result is inevitable. Their problems fall like bombs over this table and they smash it with a deafening manner. Then Monday comes, finding them in suspense between a lost Weekend and a following troublesome week. The solution is given to them in a natural and unexpected way. It is revealed to them that all their contradictions and racking situations are due to the lack of communication and to the simple and costless human approaching which when it takes place the feelings of understanding, love, sympathy, catharsis, and relief come automatically.
