The poet Giannis Ritsos wrote the play in 1959. Central character is a lonely woman, former fighter, passing now her life in a provincial town, living in a deadlock, as she didn't manage to find the happy medium between life and devotion to an ideal. Routine, boredom, provincial life, unfulfilled desires. A train driving through her town gives her a hope for something unexpected, which could agitate her life. The unexpected comes in the form of an ephemeral love causing the tragic death of a woman. (Extract from Thessaloniki newspaper)
