Vienna, 1923. A group of fellow students of the Medical School test their limits while flirting with disaster. Desperate, absolutely disenchanted after World War I, morally and ideologically confused, they get trapped in ruthless, merciless games, as they consider their youth a disease that needs to be eliminated. The Austrian director Ferdinand Bruckner (1891-1958) in the majority of his work reflects on the specific time juncture – related to an era and generation that leaned the ground for the coming of the dark ages known as Nazism. The play is staged for the first time by the NTNG.
