BIG DAY: Bertolt Brecht Tribute

The honorary tribute to Bertolt Brecht, which inaugurates the “BIG DAYS” set of actions by the NTNG, will take place at the Theatre of the Society for Macedonian Studies (foyer, 6th & 7th floors), on Saturday November 2, 2013, and will include a series of events lasting from 10:00 in the morning till 5.00 in the afternoon. The tribute is organised to coincide with a performance of The Resistible Rise Of Arturo Ui, at the Vassiliko (Royal) Theatre.

The activities scheduled in the context of the Bertolt Brecht Tribute are the following:

• “Brecht for Beginners”—Drama game for primary school children
• “Take a position”—Psychodrama for adults
• Staging of an extract from Bertolt Brecht's play The Causasian Chalk Circle
• Educational drama for teenagers, based on Brecht's text He Who Says Yes/He Who Says No
• Presentation of Bertolt Brecht's work A Short Organum for the Theatre
• Educational drama for teachers and adults, based on Brecht's -play He Who Says Yes/He Who Says No
• Round Table: “Epic Theatre: theory and practice”
• Screening of Audiovisual Material from: rehearsals of Mother Courage and Her Children, staged at Delacorte Theatre, New York, in 2006
• Performance of some of the best-known songs that marked the staging of plays by Bertolt Brecht
• Exhibition of photographs that aim to visualise the writer's poems
• Exhibition of scenery and costumes designed for Bertolt Brecht's plays staged by the National Theatre of Northern Greece
• Exhibition of sets and costumes designed for Bertolt Brecht's plays staged by the National Theatre of Northern Greece
• “Installing Brecht”: artistic conception of Bertolt Brecht's works
• Sale of programmes and posters from previous performances by the National Theatre of Northern Greece of Bertolt Brecht's plays.
