'Gyparis' is the only pastoral drama of our literature. In fact it is not about a play describing the bucolic life and having as heroes the shepherds and shepherdesses. Here we see the adventures of some well-off young men of the Renaissance, who evading the commitments and the pressures of social life in the city, resort to the nature to live there love and freedom. Four lovers live the hardships and the ups and downs of an endless love adventure, which is full of melodramatic prolongations and comic elements. (The director Mary Vostantzi)
