The Matchmaker, well known in the Greek public from the film Hello Dolly, with Barbara Streizand, is a story of loves, marriages and comic situations. As the writer points out, its subject is an endless series of trouble, leading to happy ends. The play is a farce in a traditional style, which uses many common tricks, used by writers of the time of Aristophanes: wrong recognitions of persons, men disguised as women, lost wallets etc.
