The NTNG is staging a series of parallel activities which seek to contribute to the public conversation on issues of broad social interest. In December 2022, we begin a public debate on gender identities and the different forms of the modern family. The first series of actions, entitled “Gender Identity & Rainbow Families”, will take place on Sunday 11 December at the Theatre of the Society for Macedonian Studies; admission is free. Looking at two works from the NTNG’s repertory (“Prague” by Javier de Dios and “If you want to break up raise your hand” by Giorgos Kapoutzidis), the day’s events will focus on gender identity and contemporary forms of the family, as well as societal resistance to the acceptance and institutionalization of LGBTQ+ rights.
