The NTNG in Konstanz, with the play “Utopia in progress” (30/04/2014)

Ten young people from Greece and ten more from Germany, aged 18–23, managed to highlight the different rhythm in which the two countries function, through the play  Utopia in progress, in which they talk about their fears, insecurities and dreams.
Utopia in progress, a co-production between the National Theatre of Northern Greece and the Youth Theatre of Konstanz (Junges Theater Konstanz), directed by Anestis Azas and Prodromos Tsinikoris, premiered in Konstanz, a small city in Southern Germany, on April 26, and gained the audience's warmest applause.

Based on the play The Birds (Ornithes) by Aristophanes, the play talks about the quest for the ideal homeland, it brings to light the dreams, as well as the “nightmares” of youth, and exposes the stereotypes in the relations between Greece and Germany.  The training and bonding of this team of young people from two countries was accomplished through workshops that took place not only in Thessaloniki, at the  National Theatre of Northern Greece, but also in Konstanz, at the Youth Theatre of Konstanz (Junges Theater Konstanz).
