Postponement of the audition dates for the NTNG Theatre Workshop

The scheduled auditions for the selection of the participants in the Theatre Workshop of the National Theatre of Northern Greece are postponed due to the forthcoming elections.

Auditions are rescheduled for the 24thand 25thof September in Thessalonikiand 27 28, 29 and 30 of September in Athens.

The Theatre Workshop starts this fall in Thessaloniki in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture in the framework of the European Programme “CULTURE”-CULTURAL EGNATIA.

Theseare subsidized masterclasses of theatrical research and applied theatre studies (with payment provided for all participants along with accommodation for the non-residents of Thessaloniki) which addresses professional actors, graduates of theatre schools as well as graduates of University theatre departments, up to 35 years old, with good knowledge of the English language.

 The masterclasses will be taught by distinguished Greek and foreign artists and theatre theoreticians among which are : Eleni Varopoulou, Vassilis Papavasiliou, Reni Pittaki, Sofia Michopoulou, Dimitris Dimitriades, Savvina Giannatou, Nikita Milivoyevich, Alexander Popovski, while the coordination and organization is undertaken by director Niketi Kontouri.

During the first phase, from October 2007 until April 2008 three masterclasses circles will run, whose research work and rehearsals will lead to a series of presentations of two or three plays by directors Niketi Kontouri, Yannis Paraskevopoulos, Ektoras Lygizos and the cooperation of Anastasia Theofanidou, Kostas Vomvolos and Nikos Voudouris.

On the first day of the auditions candidates should be all present at 10 a.m., dressed in comfortable clothes and ought to know a song a cappella, at a venue which will be timely announced by the Press and the site of the NTNG (www.ntng.gr).
