Rainbow Sundays at the NTNG
“Art and Disability”
VENUE: Royal (Vasiliko) Theatre
DATE: Sunday 28 April 2024
ADMISSION: Free
The National Theatre of Northern Greece opens its doors wide and welcomes everyone in with a series of inclusive activities on the theme of “Art and Disability”. The events will be held at the Royal (Vasiliko) Theatre and will include free workshops, discussions, presentations, activities related to the visual arts, and games for adults and children.
The NTNG’s last Rainbow Sunday of the 2023-2024 season sets out to promote an art that does not exclude, that renders human diversity visible, that incorporates different abilities and experiences—in short, an art that does not divide or segregate. The NTNG recognizes that every citizen in a democracy has a right to know about art and to participate in it, and this Sunday will include a discussion of the importance of inclusive art in which the experiences of people with disabilities in the theatre will be heard.
Dedicated to art and disability, this Rainbow Sunday reflects the NTNG’s more wide-ranging aspiration to embrace best practices with regard to accessibility and the inclusion of people with disabilities in the theatre and in theatrical practice.
