The Spiceman

2009-2010 NTNG Children's Stage
The Spiceman - Alexandros Adamopoulos
Launch: Vassiliko Theatre, 03/11/2009

…No-one was suitable for her, to love and live with-so she said. And so the princess, sure of herself, made him of semolina with her own hands, so that he would see no other, and made him just as she wanted, as she dreamt of. Because she had seen many things, and was much afraid…And she used to tell him 'Love me and be good to me, be pretty when awake, never talk back and sleep around'. And they were living happily ever after, a fairytale living, with no worry at all.
Until the moment that in a far away place, another princess convinced her mother to set up a cunning marketplace trick and snatched away the Spiceman.
The princess starts looking for her lost love and now that she has lost him discovers things about her self. What might be the sequence of this story hysterically beloved by all, regardless of education, gender and age? How can such a conflict between good and evil, ‘ego’ and prudence’ fit into a stage?
