The story of Loxandra, an ordinary folk woman, full of determination and a deep insight into life who cheerfully, affectionately and without complaints takes care of a multi-member middle class Greek family in Constantinople in late 19th -early 20th century. While the numerous relatives, friends and neighbors jostle around her along with Virgin Mary of Bajioukli, stepchildren, Turks, hanoums, the neighborhood’s pasha while important historical events take place, Loxandra bristles with vitality, and face tireless all life adversities based on her wisdom of instinct and maturity of life experience; the following phrase becomes her life motto ''too much worry can drive one insane''.. It is a tribute to life itself.
