"Leprentis", a comedy written in 1835 by the important fighter and author Michail or Miltiadis Hourmouzis, satirizes the Greek bourgeoisie in an Athens in the hands of Bavarians. The hero of the play is a rich, ugly old man who falls for a beautiful young girl. Onto this canvas march various figures from the neighbourhood, exploiting his weakness and trying to get money out of him. Their efforts furnish the occasion for many funny scenes, complemented by live music and songs.
