Chrisy, four years old, I would like to become a fairy!
The deepest wish of little Chrisy was to become a true fairy in a yellow bright dress with big yellow feathers...
The wish of the four years old Chrisy was definite... "I would like to become a fairy." National Theatre of Northern Greece immediately took up the call from Make-A-Wish Greece, and on Sunday the 1st of June 2014 Chrisy's dream became reality.
It all started in the centre of Thessaloniki, where a volunteer from the organization met her during a Sunday morning at the hotel where she stayed and she gave her the magical fairy-suit with a card written on it: "Chrisy, wear you costume and your wish may come true..."
Chrisy put on her costume and got on the tiny little red car which wheeled her at the land of fantasy. There, she first met Tinkerbelle, and while she was getting deepest into the forest, she kept meting other fairies, Peter Pan, Snow White, and of course Dopey and Bashful, who are the little girl's favorite characters. In the beginning, the fairies were under cover and waited for their little friend. When she came along, they came out and welcomed her inside the fairy-world. They talked and danced with her and gave her, each and one of them, a magical gift. At the end, Chrisy found her self in the heart of the Magical Forest, where she met fairy-queen and fairy-king as well. During a magical rite, the girl was crowned a veritable fairy, and she received her own big yellow feathers, as she exactly had imagined! All the fairies danced around her at her own singing.
With this magical way little Chrisy made her dream come true. The National Theatre of Northern Greece converted a central park of the city of Thessaloniki into an actual fairy-world setting, creating the text of the theatrical event, granting the costumes and the sets for the decoration, as well as, the actors and the technicians who volunteered to make Chrisy's wish come true, while a new unpublished song was written especially for her.
