Dance of Death - August Strindberg

Trapped within a tower-prison, on an island at the edge of the world, captain Edgar and his wife Alice, a former actress, experience their own private hell, just before their silver wedding anniversary. Casual conversation, sometimes meaningless and sometimes bitter, a mutual effort to destroy one another in every possible way, the battle of the sexes, are what characterize their shattered relationship and their '25 years of misery'. And although it seems as if death is the only road to freedom, their hatred seems to be the only weapon for their most powerful commitment.
