In Athens of 50's, Angela arrives from her village in order to work as housemaid in a civil home, in a removed relative or people from her village that are now living in block of flats of the big city. Over there, in the terrace, among clothes hanging for drying, the 'female slaves' are met, some young with the hope of a better life, and some older with the sorrow of the deflexed dream of 'great' Athens. The girls carry the memory of the county while around them occur several personal and social dramatic stories. Some of the act's events are a mysterious death, their love affairs, some times ideal and some times including violence, and behind all these there is Greece with the wounds of the civil war, the poverty, the exploitation, the dream of getaway, the emigration to America, the police, the communists and Athens, which is handling the weight of all country. Giorgos Sevastikoglou, 'master of the scene language', focus with mastery on the microcosm, by showing at the same time the social map of Greece at that time, as it is recognized at our memories or old family photos. After three decades on the theatrical scenes of Greece and abroad, "Angela" is undoubtedly one of the happiest moments of modern Greek dramaturgy.
