The comedy "The candidate member of Parliament" has been published in sequels in the satiric newspaper "Aristophanes" and used by Karidis to stigmatize specific politic persons of the moment. The member of Parliament Gomaras, a boorish mountaineer cattle-breeder that the sub-prefect chose him as nominee of the governmental party in his province, he succeeded to be elected through violence, fraud, intimidations and bribery. Gomaras arrives in Athens where he visits the house of the Minister Mikromegas to take advice from him about how to appear in the Parliament, what to say and how to act. His acquaintance with Gomaras as well as the evolutions and the habits of the Capital cause successive comic situations.
