A stuffy, cynical, tragic and symbolic atmosphere surrounds the myth of Camino Real. The writer presents a symbolic world of dream and history, mixed with reality. Dukes and Casanovas, Lords and Barons, dreamers and realists parade on stage and beyond all, we see the eternal violence of the underworld. Human shadows in an atmosphere of ritual hallucination move within narrow margins of a life without hope. No evolution or catharsis, only demonstration and harrowing confession and action beyond any logic. A pessimistic reference to desperation, social and mental dead and lost innocence, in an America of decay, where the dreams are crashed and the humiliation of human values dominates.
