The play describes the coarse behavior of a mother who kills her child while at the same time criticizes the inability of the so-called civilized society to cure a phenomenon like that. The viewer, whether recognizing himself in a character or not, will surely sense that these neurotic and disorientated people are a part of our modern time. The little child is the only free person, free from conventions, theories and orders. He is free from every kind of oppression, internal or external regulations but quickly pays the price of civilization, so as his primitive feelings of liberty get in civilized form. The writer observes also the difference between the scientific confrontation of a forensic surgeon who in a way represents him, and in the confrontations of the surroundings, of the Press and Public Opinion, represented by various types of our daily life.
