NTNG: Educational Programmes 2011- 2012

Thessaloniki 2012
«Words we remember » Writers of Thessaloniki

National Theatre of Northern Greece following its long tradition on educational and social programmes presents three new educational programmes for 2011-2012. Two of them are addressed to students of primary and secondary school and the third is addressed to children that are hospitalized in Thessaloniki.
These new educational programmes are called “Words we remember” and are a part of a programme that celebrated a hundred years from Thessaloniki’s liberation, and is dedicated to writers of the city that are no longer with us.

The Programmes

«Chicken’s Egg» by George Ioannou, for students of the 4th and 5th grade.

The programme begins on November 23, 2011
Duration: 35-40 minutes
Let’s have fun. Through the apparent innocent writing of the play, one can clearly see the fierce face of authority, hostility among citizens and an endless conflict of interests, all given through an entertaining and pleasant way. Will the cosmopolitan chicken save us from the hands of authority?

All performances – presentations are realized in classrooms, without any prior adjustment being necessary. The theatre group is made up of three actors. At the beginning of every programme, children take printed copies that enable them to follow the performance and to participate. After the performance a discussion takes place.
