DIRECTING DELACROIX in collaboration with the Teloglion Fine Arts Foundation (22/11/2016)


The National Theatre of Northern Greece in collaboration with the Teloglion Fine Arts Foundation (AUTH) presents the theatrical event “Directing Delacroix” on Friday 26 November and Friday 2nd of December. The event, inspired by Eugène Delacroix’s famous painting “The Massacre at Chios” and based on original testimonies as well as a script by Alexandra Charani, is directed by Nikolas Maragkopoulos.

Director’s Note
 

At the legendary Salon of the Fine Arts Academy, two great painters are trying to win their place in history. August Ingres, a dedicated lover of antiquity representing Classicism, and Eugène Delacroix, a heretic dandy representing Romanticism, confront one another with the painting “The Massacre at Chios” serving as their background.
