The NTNG is ON THE ROAD WITH PAOK (23/02/2016)

The National Theatre of Northern Greece plans to stage a new, unexpected production at Lazaristes Monastery in May. It is the work of one of the most popular directors and screenwriters of the New Greek cinema, D01310v01Stavros Tsiolis, entitled “On the road with PAOK”, which will be staged at Moni Lazariston Studio Theatre, directed by Taxiarhis Hanos.

By staging the play of one of the most popular directors and screenwriters of the New Greek cinema the NTNG participates in the celebrations of the PAOK FC family that is marking the 90th anniversary since the establishment of the football club.

The play involves the historical trip of 2.500 PAOK FC supporters to Athens by rail to watch their favourite team play against Olympiakos FC. Among the supporters were also two young women who wanted to meet at the Larissa Railway Station a famous Greek pop singer whom the younger one has asked out -with a letter- for a date.

A play that has been discussed intensively, as it was linked to warm-blooded football fans incidents when it was staged in 2011 at Karolos Koun’s Art Theatre (Theatro Technis), but still full of humour and tenderness.

A performance addressed both to male and female audience, as stated Stavros Tsiolis too: “On the road with PAOK” both girls find in their favourite football team the companionship, the power to dream and hope.
