Michael Frayn’s delightful comedy “Noises Off” will be performed at the Municipal Movie Theater “Alexis Miniotis” on Friday, February 26th at 9.00 pm. Following the two successful performances at the Municipal Theatre “Aneton”, this is our next collaboration with the Drug Rehabilitation Centre “Ianos” of the Psychiatric Hospital of Thessaloniki.
“Noises Off” will be performed by the theatrical group “The Others”, members of which are people who are under observation at the Drug Rehabilitation Centre “Ianos” of the Psychiatric Hospital of Thessaloniki, with the initiative and consultancy of Anni Tsolakidou, actress at the NTNG.
The Drug Rehabilitation Centre “Ianos”, which started its operation in 1992, focuses on addictions caused by psychoactive substances. The Centre approaches, gives directions and monitors addicted individuals during all phases of their addiction as well as of their rehabilitation until they are completely reinserted in the society.
Through this work, people who up until now were unaware of words such as acting exercises, improvisation or even theatrical rehearsal, have been able to take action, to commit, to expose themselves, to give and receive emotions, to share, to trust, to work hard displaying commitment and patience, and to feel accepted and self-confident.
The NTNG with the intention of contributing to the recreational activity of addicted individuals will continue to support the of the Psychiatric Hospital of Thessaloniki Drug Rehabilitation Centre’s effort.
