Ancient Drama Today: Approaches and prospects

  • 11.00   Ancient Drama: Ancient or Drama? by Stathis Livathinos, director
  • 11.30   The cycle of agriculture and ancient drama in the Mediterranean, by Sotiris Hatzakis, director 
  • 12.00   Homeric Women in Ancient Drama, by Dimitris Maronitis, Professor Emeritus of the School of Philosophy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki 
  • 12.30   Aspects of Ancient Drama: Thematic Projections – Approaches in Direction, by Dimitra Mitta, Philologist – Professor at the School of Drama of the NTNG
  • 13.00   Discussion: The importance of the intra-cultural approach to Ancient Drama, With Nikitas Tsakiroglou, Dimitris Maronitis, Sotiris Hatzakis, Stathis Livathinos and Dimitra Mitta.

PERFORMANCE

           Voices of the Balkans Excerpts from ancient drama by companies from South-Eastern Europe, accompanied by chorus performances of the NTNG with live music.
