Participation in the Europolis Festival (20/11/2013)

Europolis Festival - Stories of the Old Continent

Within the framework of the project “Il Ratto d’Europa” (The abduction of Europe), the National Theatre of Northern Greece participated in the Europolis Festival, hosted by the renowned Italian theatrical company, Teatro di Roma. The Festival was held in Rome, from the 12th-16th November, 2013, in collaboration with the Union of Theatres of Europe (UTE).

The core subject of the festival was the historical development of Europe, starting from ancient mythology and reaching the present day, presented through a variety of activities, performances, workshops, exhibitions and concerts. The goal of the project was to show the emergence of the theatre as an area for collective creativeness, as well as a setting for social dialogue.

In this context, numerous important European theatres—including the NTNG represented by the actress Egli Katsiki—presented a series of monologues on the theme of the history, but also the future of Europe. An important place among all the events was held by the ISO Theatre, which is a group of young actors from the UTE, in which Greece is represented by the NTNG.

Participant: Egli Katsiki, actress, graduate of the National Theatre of Northern Greece Drama School
Consulting Director: Giannis Rigas
