The future of Greek theatre starting tomorrow in Thessaloniki: a meeting of the students of NTNG and the National Theatre drama schools at the National Theatre of Northern Greece. (10/01/2014)
Ten third-year students of the
drama school
of the
National Theatre of Northern Greece
will meet and host fourteen third-year students of the
National Theater's
drama school
, starting tomorrow and for three days, in the context of the collaboration of the two big state theatrical organizations.
This original artistic meeting will officially start on
Saturday January 11, 2014
at 13:00 hrs, at the main building of the drama school of the NTNG, at the Lazaristes Monastery
.
G. Margaritis and K. Georgoussopoulos
will share a teaching session on Bertold Brecht.
The timetable of the seminars, which will be instructed in the form of workshops by the director of the NTNG drama school, Mr.
Giannis Rigas
, as well as, by the professors
Giannis Margaritis
,
Amalia Kontoyanni
and
Kostas Gerardos
, will be as follows:
• Saturday January 11, 2014, from 13:00 to 20:00
• Sunday January 12, 2014, from 15:00 to 22:00
• Monday January 13, 2014, from 09:00 to 16:00
Respectively, there will be a proportional student exchange during Easter time, when the National Theatre will offer hospitality to the students of the NTNG drama school.
With respect to this specific project, the artistic director of the NTNG Mr.
Giannis Vouros
, made the following statement: "From the very beginning, we have claimed that we consider extroversion an implicit target for the NTNG, and the same goes for our collaborations with other third parties, even more with particular cultural institutions and especially when those collaborations have a positive affect on the youngsters, on new generations of actors and actresses. In this context, we maintain the relationships between the two theatres, which have been traditionally regarded as self-evident, while today, it is considered by us even more useful and substantial. In correspondence with the artistic director of the National Theatre, Mr. Hatzakis, we set this first effort, the student exchange between the two drama schools, and I believe that this can become the springboard for further collaboration, to an even higher level, through the practice of artistic exchanges."
