The National Theatre of Northern Greece takes the initiative to publish a digital book for smart devices and computers. The e-book is available for free and includes rich audiovisual material and information on the performances of the NTNG that were staged at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus and toured in ancient theatres and summer festivals all over Greece.
Emphasizing on the performances staged at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, the National Theatre of Northern Greece, responding to the needs of today’s theatregoers and making the most of contemporary technology, offers a live digital tour in its rich archives. The innovative e-book The Ancient Greek Drama at the NTNG, performances at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus and other venues, can be downloaded and saved on tablets, mobile phones or computers by anybody, worldwide
The reader is given the opportunity to browse through forty-five ancient theatre productions that were staged during the 55 years of NTNG’s operation, from 1961 until today, developed in 464 digital pages with 31 videos, 34 audio clips, 289 pictures and 12 programmes.
This e-book is a journey through history, a journey through the material and living world of theatre but also a search tool, with its content accessible while offline. It can also redirect its online readers to the full content of NTNG’s

The first edition of this digital publication (ebook-ePub3) is available for free download since July 2016. Our goal is to constantly update this first edition and to translate the entire content in English and other languages.
