New ticket policy of the NTNG: an “open invitation” for the citizens to attend high-quality theatre! (18/09/2014)
The
National Theatre of Northern Greece
will issue prepaid cards, worth of €40 and valid for five (5) performances, an act that amounts to an open invitation for the citizens to attend theatre performances by paying only €8 for a ticket; in this way, it continues the low ticket policy in the theatrical season 2014-2015, as it considers as a primary responsibility and obligation of a State theatrical instutution to fulfill its social role.
“From the early beginning, we aimed at establishing the
NTNG
as an theatre which will be open for every citizen. Since last year we gave the opportunity to every citizen to come to the NTNG, by reducing the general admission fee from 20 to €15 and offering a wide range of tickets for different audience groups: for young children, university students, families, 65+, vulnerable social groups. Our decision was justified by the increase of our audience at a rate of 39,5%, according to last year’s annual report, when the average ticket price was only €9.5.
This is why we will continue in the same direction for one more year. We will further reduce the admission fee at the performance for the general public on Wednesday, which will reach the price of €10, we will continue to issue tickets for “the company of friends,” which reduces the cost to almost €11, the family ticket for the youth stage, which gives free admission to one of the two parents, as well as the card of “connected” theatres for theatre fans. Finally, we will implement a new potential for subscribers, the prepaid card, worth of €40 and valid for five (5) performances where the spectator is free to select the performances he/she wishes to attend, reducing the cost of attendance to only €8.
