DETAILED WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

OLIVIER DE SAGAZAN in collaboration with STEPHANIE SANT (FRANCE)
Wednesday 27th and Thursday  28th June 2018, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Lazaristes Monastery - Dance Τheatre Auditorium

To be covered with clay is an initiatory act that can be found in all primitive peoples. Clay has a liberating and creative power. A body covered with clay, as the primitives say, passes into the world of the spirits, between the sculpture and the ghost: it is a transfigured body in dialogue with “the beyond”. For us, the “beyond” is the depth of the performer soul.

WORK PHASES

First phase: work alone
Discover clay and its ductility; find clay that is ideal for sculpting. Every participant makes a “transfiguration” alone, in front of the others. Try to start from your own feelings and kinesthesis in order to explore and discover your inner self.

Second phase: work in pairs and as a group.
The same work, but with one another: transfiguration become hybridation/hybridization. Everyone covers someone else’s face and body; for the blind, a great moment of sensuality. Work on contact, on bashfulness, on modesty – dressed at first, then naked. The body of the Other becomes a continuity of our own. The group becomes one body.

Maximum no of participants: 15
Duration: 3 hours

The participants should carry with them towels and light-old clothes. There will be available showers at the venue.

Companhia do Chapitô's Theatre Workshop

PE0466J0001v07

The Chapitô Theatre Company, known as Companhia do Chapitô, proposes a theatre workshop in which vocal and instrumental elements, rhythm and ductility, are placed at the same level as the text and in the service of communication. In this space, the participants are allowed to construct their dramatic game, using improvisation and gestural invention to develop the action. We begin by exploring the archetypes and the conventions within the characters, characterizing them not through their states of mind or psychological characteristics, but through physical behaviors. The process creates a complicity between the forms of improvisation, gesturality and verbal communication.

Maximum no of participants: 20
Duration: 3 hours

Forte company (HUNGARY)
Tuesday, 3rd July 2018, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
SOCIETY FOR MACEDONIAN STUDIES – Rehearsals Room – 7th Floor

Forte Company, workshop /  training

On July 3rd, artists from the Forte Company will present a workshop on and give a small introduction to the choreography of their performance. The Forte Company was founded by the director-choreographer Csaba Horváth in 2005. His aim: to create a new, homogenous language with the help of bodies, voices, dance, music and text. Thus redefined, their “physical theatre” adopts a different take on storytelling, situation, scene-building, stage time, performance space, and dramaturgy. It calls forth a particularly exciting and original method of acting. This method is the basis of all the company's performances.
