A theatrical version of the famous work “Salvatores Dei” (The Saviors of God) by Nikos Kazantzakis, a text rich in meanings that expresses the metaphysical faith of the great Cretan writer. The text belongs to Kazantzakis’ early works. Kazantzakis himself has argued that “Salvatores Dei” is a Cry and his whole work a comment that expresses his anguish to overcome the borders of the mind and to solve the mystery of existence.

Α new educational programme designed by the NTNG in collaboration with Vafopoulio Cultural Centre will start in 2017.

The programme, entitled Thessaloniki through the eyes of G. Th. Vafopoulos, is directed by Dimitris Tsilinikos. Its subject is Thessaloniki and how much it has changed during the last century, that is from 1917 until today, as far as its population composition, social stratification, architecture etc are concerned. Data relevant to the changing face of Thessaloniki are drawn from the writings of the great writer and poet Giorgos Vafopoulos.

The programme is addressed to students of Secondary Schools. It will be staged at Vafopoulio Cultural Centre from mid-January 2017. Performances addressed to the public at various alternative venues will follow.
