The NTNG joins the 13th Thessaloniki International Book Fair, 12-15 May (25/04/2016)

 
THE NTNG PARTICIPATES IN THE 13th THESSALONIKI INTERNATIONAL BOOK FAIR
(TIF-HELEXPO, FROM 12 TO 15 MAY 2016) 
 
The National Theatre of Northern Greece takes part in the 13th Thessaloniki International Book Fair that will be held from 12 to 15 May at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition and Congress Centre (TIF-HELEXPO), organised by the Hellenic Foundation for Culture in collaboration with the TIF-HELEXPO, the Greek Publishers and the City of Thessaloniki, under the auspices and the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
With Russia as guest of honour, a thematic exhibition “Refugees, then and now”, the 3rd Young Writers’ Festival, a Translation Festival, the typical Children and Teen’s Corner etc. that will frame up the rich and multithematic programme of the events, always with the help of the Greek and the foreign  publishers participants, the 13th TIBF organisation aspires to keep featuring invariably the world of Letters, Science and Arts that resists forcefully all forms of crisis, discourses, has a concern, envisions hopefully and engraves the prospect horizons of Greece.

At the NTNG’s stand there will be programmes of the current season but also collectable ancient drama programmes, programmes of modern greek and universal repertoire (many of which include the play text), of dance theatre and operas (with libretto), of children performances. Furthermore, there will be photobooks, foreign language editions as well as CDs with music composed for NTNG’s performances. Finally, it worths referring the performance programmes of russian plays as well as the programme of the performance “Refugees in Greece”, that correspond to the exhibition’s featured themes.   
Also, as part of the events of the TIBF’s cultural programme, the NTNG will present the two tributes “Thessaloniki – Excavation I” and “Thessaloniki – Excavation II”. Actors from the NTNG recite noted authors’ texts on Thessaloniki and its neighbourhoods, which, embellished with music and songs, illumine the old and the nowadays city life, its history and people. The TIBF is one more stop of the “Excavations” that have started their journey on November 2015 and touched the audience wherever they were presented (ESIEMTH, Archaeological Museum, Diavata prison, ΟKANA Drug Treatment Centre, AUTH, Kapani market, evening secondary schools, the Open Places of the Protection for the Elderly, Zogia Café, Folklife and Ethnological Museum of Macedonia – Thrace et al.) 
“Excavation I” includes texts of: G. Tzanis, G. Themelis, N. Kavvadias, F. Makris, N. Kokkalidou-Nahmia, G. Vafopoulos, D. Miggas, Z. Karelli, Th. Grigoriadis, G. Gkozis, A. Nar, K. Moskof, N. Christianopoulos, K. Tahtsis, Ch. Missios, G. Skabardonis and R. Thornton.

In “Excavation II”, the tour goes on with a new collection of texts from great authors: Roula Alavera, Tilemachos Alaveras, Manolis Anagnostakis, Nikos-Alexis Aslanoglou, Polyxeni Veleni, Stella Vogiatzoglou, Zyranna Zateli, Leonidas Zisiadis, Tolis Kazantzis, Giorgos Ioannou, Giorgos Katos, Edmund Keeley, Thomas Korovinis, Prodromos Markoglou, Thanasis Markopoulos, Markos Meskos, Georgios Modis, Nikos Bakolas, Tolis Nikiforou, Sofia Nikolaidou, Giannis Palamiotis, Nikos-Gavriil Pentzikis, Nikolas Sevastakis, Tellos Filis, Ifigeneia Chrysochoou.
The performance is accompanied by the music and songs of the artists: Dionysis Savvopoulos, Manolis Rasoulis, Nikos Papazoglou, Nikos Mamagakis, and others.
