2007-2008 NTNG Dance Theatre
Launch: Theatre of the Society for Macedonian Studies, 14/11/2007
DID YOU SAY BAROQUE? This work is inspired by J.S. Bach, the unfailing architect of sounds and rhythms whose genius accomplished a precise proportion of originality and freedom represented by 'Balance'. Nowhere else has the deeper meaning, the intensity of the rhythm been expressed with a greater energy than in music and dance. One of the reasons why contemporaries have a new appreciation of baroque architecture is the concordant integration of an empty space in modern needs, which is a classic baroque characteristic. The matter contains what is useful; the factual essence is created by the immaterial. The distances (time-space) between the dancers form the choreographic lines, the terminology and punctuation in alternating, heavily or lightly accented segments of time.
CASA 'ALBA': The elegy by M. Hernandez: 'Elegia a la muerte de Garcia Lorca', takes us to the world of casa 'Alba'. A world of silence and struggle, a type of abbey or hell, in an oppressive atmosphere with the stench of death. A world where Bernanda dominates as an absolute despote.
